Here's how!rnrnrnSimply click on the link listed below, and then when the page opens, enter your preferred nickname, real name (doesn't have to be your actual -real- name). In the channel blank, add the word 'lobby' (without the quotes or a pound sign in front). Now click 'continue' and you'll be taken via a java window to the server and the IRP network.
rnrnIf nobody answers you right away, it's probably because they're at work, or at school, or busy living a life.
Resurrecting the Dead -- 'Immortal Seductions' resumes in a New Orleans setting

“Immortal Seductions” is a chronicle in the role-play game world of Vampire: the Masquerade (V:tM only at this point) -- an Old World of Darkness role-play game publication of White Wolf gaming studios.

A collective of talented players meet on-line at scheduled times for game sessions using the IRC platform on server irc.irc-roleplay.org and in the channel of #Immortal_Seductions. Out of Character (OOC) chat occurs in #IS_ooc .

Delving deeply into the urban-gothic ambiance that permeates the streets of New Orleans, Immortal Seductions is an experience of fascination and horror for these players under the direction of Master Storyteller (MST) ‘Evil’.

In the ensuing chronicle, both mortals and supernatural characters, live out their fates of personal triumph or doom in the convoluted and broad sweeping saga of intrigue, danger, death and immortality, for better or worse.

Game sessions are run very similar to the Table Top style of pen and paper role play and there is some opportunity for Free Form style of Role Play at the player’s agreement and without Storyteller direction. Although, any conflicts must wait for the jurisdiction of a Storyteller and all logs of play must be mailed in to the Master Storyteller for experience points to be awarded.

Points may be accumulated both to the benefit of the character and for the advancement of the player within the status ranks of the gaming group as well. Under such a system one can earn the right (through exemplary play, experience and maturity) to play the more heavy-handed characters within the WoD.

Players may even aspire through point accumulation to the position of Storyteller themselves and direct in co-operation with the Master Storyteller.

As for those that have no such aspirations, rest assured that ALL characters start out with beginning stats and there are no powerful characters in the hands of anyone’s control but that of the Master Storyteller and are used responsibly for the development of the Story line. Yes, that’s right… even the Prince and Primogen of the city are NPCs (Non-player Characters) as is suggested within the Main Source books and Storyteller guides published by White Wolf Game Studio®.

For more information or to request a copy of the Orientation.Document, e-mail the MST at evil@irc-roleplay.com or drop by the #IS_ooc channel on irc.irc-roleplay.org .

The IRP Network Hits 1 Year Mark.

rnA little over a year ago, Remedy and Muse decided to join the IRP Network servers and the GrenadeInMouth servers to provide a stable IRC environment for the two domain's users. A year later, that goal has been met but not without some downs along with the ups.rn
rn
rnThere's been plenty of false starts, lots of re-doing channels and registrations and the founding users will recall that even a whole server (irc.irc-roleplay.com) had to be abandoned because of its utterly incompetent and lame host.rn
rn
rnOther challenges included DDOS attacks (amongst other troubles) on another Host's servers which kept irc.irc-roleplay.net off-line for months. Also, an assortment of drama and situations that tried the patience and friendships of the user base as well as some connectivity problems presented the most common low spots. rn
rn
rnEven still, it was all overcome with flying colors by the great folks who make up the staff and user base of the IRP Network and GrenadeInMouth. The results are that a year later the network is a stable, reliable, friendly venue that offers the tools to support role-players and their games. It's found its place and those within have settled into a comfort zone that is growing as familiar as a well-worn pair of jeans. rn
rn
rnNow it's just a matter of continuing the good work and seeing what will be made of these offerings--the possibilities only limited by the individual's imagination, creativity, motivation and enthusiasm.rn
rn
rnAnother bit of the year's background history is that some of the user base came here, leaving behind some really horrible experiences on other servers. Coming here meant coming to irc.irc-roleplay.org (or net) where was offered a nice, pleasant and safe IRC role-play environment. And even though most still frequent the larger RP servers for game variety and a broader player base, this little IRP Network is always a great place to escape the chaos and annoyances that larger IRC server's user bases can present--to just kick back and play in peace.rn
rn
rnThe forums have been used for different forms of Role-play support; from individuals using it for their own files and archives to providing a common point of reference for chronicle happenings and updates. From Character portraits to logs of role-play, again the limitations are up to the individual. With as much space as is provided, an entire play-by-post chronicle could be easily done sans IRC on the forum boards, if one so wished. AND IT'S ALL FREE!rn
rn
rnThe goal is the same today, a year later, as it was on day one. To provide an IRC network (and other tools) dedicated to role players and their games/chronicles.rn
rn
rnHere's to a challenging, but overall, great start!rn
rn
rn :beer:rn
rn
rnCHEERS to GrenadeInMouth and the IRC Role-Play Network (IRP Network)rn
rn

User count is growing steadily and channels are getting more and more active. It's hard to believe that the IRP network just started up a mere 3 months ago.

Latest Announcement is one that's been coming for a while:

Network Administrators, Remedy and Muse, have banded together to bring the most stability for network users and provide multiple background services to enhance server operations and user experience. By linking together, the network has grown over 300%!!

Users may now connect to the network with their client (IRC program) of choice via the three servers listed below; irc.scenepit.com will get you connected to grenade.irc-roleplay.com as well, if that's easier to remember than the other addresses.

Operators are outgoing, friendly and very helpful to users be they brand new in their IRC experience or even the old pros looking for a great place to chat and lurk.

This and That.

If you didn't know, the future plans for the IRP Network is to grow, of course! To do this, we need to link to other servers to provide a more stable overall network of servers. This way, if one should *poof* then users can do a little hop to one of the others and continue on with the least bit of interuption.
rn
rnRemedy, Services Admin, Server Admin and Network Admin for IRP Network servers and irc.grenadeinmouth.org server, will be linking that server to irc.irc-roleplay.net's server (soon to return) and irc.irc-roleplay.org's server (active now).
rn
rnThere are now two additional addresses that can go in your client's server list to make a connection to the network's active server.
rn
rn
irc.scenepit.com (active)
rnand
rnirc.irc-roleplay.com (soon to be activated)
rn
rnAlso, coming soon, www.grenadeinmouth.org website.
rn
rnA visit to the channel of #grenadeinmouth on irc.irc-roleplay.org will put you in Remedy's channel.

WE'RE BAAAAACCK!!!

The Network for Roleplay on IRC is alive and looking better than ever. We're ready for inspired and enthusiastic roleplayers and game masters to join us in our quest to make IRPN a bastion of creativity and support for all that great roleplay consists of.

A month ago we launched and almost immediately suffered a huge set back. All was lost the day after notification to the Internet's Search Engines went out. But that didn't stop us. We picked up what pieces were left and started putting it all back together again.

And the recovery progresses ever onward. Thank-yous of humongous proportions go out to notafinga for the resurrection of our website and theme now here on www.irc-roleplay.com. And also to Remedy, without whom we struggled hopelessly in trying to get an IRCd and Services running smoothly. These guys are two real heroes coming to our rescue yet once again. You guys are awesome!

It's been nearly a month since we lost everything that was irc-roleplay.net to the DDOS attacks to our host "Worxtech". Since then we've made lots of moves and lots of changes, all in a effort to get us back to where we were -before- the attacks. Thank-you to all who hung in there with the chaos of change. It's never easy getting started. And it's even harder starting over.... and over... and over. As you all know, the only way you can win is by not quitting.

We're almost there.

The IRC (Internet Relay Chat) server is up and running with a Charybdis IRCd instead of Unreal IRCd. We also changed out services to Atheme rather than Anope. This is all in line with a future plan for our server to link up with Remedy's server, irc.grenadeinmouth.org when it comes back on-line. In the meanwhile, Remedy and his crew join us on irc.irc-roleplay.org in #grenadeinmouth. Welcome to all! We will also still have irc.irc-roleplay.net and will change it over so that it can be linked as well. This structure will provide added stability in the event of unexpected downtime in the future.

If you're new to our site and our IRC server, you can find us by putting irc.irc-roleplay.org in your client's server list. Connect and join us anytime in the channel of #help with questions or inquiries, or you might want to just browse the channel /list and choose a roleplay channel to take an interest in. We have a few started up already with more to come!

As this site grows, the associated forums here will also host much information from help files regarding IRC commands and channel operations to roleplay details and character profiles. It is only our imaginations which limit us, so that leaves a LOT of room for expansion. It's going to be hard work, but it's going to be fun.

You are welcome amongst us and hope you dare to join the adventures!
